چکیده
Evaluating the clinical performance of available methods to detect antibodies against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has become a primordial issue in laboratories. The aim this study was evaluate two for SARS-CoV-2 detection, an automated Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (CLIA) and immunochromatographic Lateral-Flow Assay (LFA) patients with positive reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Performance CLIA method Positive Agreement (PA) 56.6% Negative (NA) 96,6% IgM PA 85.8%/NA 90,2% IgG. LFA 56.2% NA 100% 95.5% 100 % general agreement IgG better than CLIA. In both methods, significant differences Kappa index are observed when compared. When evaluating data from perspective, we found that detection may not meet expected requirements their utility could lead inappropriate medical decision. findings show immunoassay might be reliable assessing immunological response COVID-19 patients. Our results also confirm measurement helpful, especially epidemiological studies our population. These provide evidence justify

Experimental Protocol for Detecting SARS-CoV-2 in Screenings and Grit Samples of Wastewater Treatment Plants
Introduction: Although various liquid, solid, and gaseous streams of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) have been analyzed in many studies for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA, no study was found to sample and detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA in screenings and grit samples separated from primary treatment units of WWTP. Hence, this study aims to provide an experimental protocol for sampling and extracting ...
متن کاملDesigning an ELISA Method for Measurement of Human IgG and IgM Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2
Background and purpose: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this study, an indirect ELISA method was designed to measure the human IgM and IgG antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. Materials and methods: Protein sequence of nucleocapsid antigen from SARS-CoV-2 was expressed in E. coli BL21 and then was...
متن کاملSerology Testing for SARS-CoV-2: Benefits and Challenges
As COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, it is an emerging need to discuss different aspects of this pandemic. In any pandemic, valid and rapid laboratory diagnostic tests are critically important for early diagnosis, which will increase the rate of successful treatment and more importantly prevent the spread of the disease.
متن کاملSeroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody in healthcare workers: A report from Rafsanjan, Iran
Background: Healthcare workers (HCWs) have a high risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Seroprevalence studies can provide related data on HCWs who have a history of infections. According to numerous seroepidemiological reports of COVID-19 in different groups and the lack of seroepidemiological reports of COVID-19 in HCWs in Rafsanjan, the aim of this study was to determine the SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalenc...
متن کاملSARS-CoV-2 infection: its psychiatric manifestations
Background: The clinical presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection was initially dominated by respiratory symptoms. However the clinical spectrum is wide and neuropsychiatric syndromes are also a source of medical concern. Our aims are to present an atypical clinical presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection characterized by auditory hallucinations and unusual behavior and to emphasize the diversity of ...
